Great Expectations

I can actually say that I have seen God work in my life over the past week. It has stunk (not God) with all the stress I have been under, but:
1) God freed up my schedule for the next week at work
2) Has helped me financially to go on the Jamaica trip.
3) Promised me $600 in May with Bush's tax return!!!!

Okay, so the last one was added due to excitement. But, I still and do expect God to continue to work through my life over the next week, into Jamaica, and through the week after I return. Here is where I need some help:

!)Financially for Jamaica
2)Project and Spanish Exam

I will get though it all because I expect God will get me through it.

NeedtoBreathe's "Washed By The Water"

NeedtoBreahte just poste the new music video they did for their song "Washed By the Water". It's a very old-school sounding sound done right. If you haven't had a chance to see NeedtoBreathe live, you are missing out!

Movie Small Groups

Hey y'all! I am at Movie Group right now with a bunch of high school kiddos. Tonight we are watching "Finding Neverland." There is always relevance with the movies we watch and after each movie we end the night with discussion. We've watched "The Ringer", "Across the Universe", and "I am Legend."

To Doubt or Not to Doubt

John 20:27
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

This morning everything is telling me to doubt God. That He won't get me through the next week and a half. I have an economics exam that is impossible to pass this morning. It's hard for me to believe that God can get me through it, yet I do. I'll admit, I have to slap myself into believing sometimes, but I come around eventually knowing that God is in control and I am not. I expect He will get me through this exam and I expect He will get me through today.

Great Expectations

Dad (God) and I talked this afternoon on the way from school to church. I told Him I had Great Expectations and I expected that:

1. Over the next two weeks he will give me rest, peace, strength, and courage to get through two exams, one project, and 2 papers. Oh, and one oral exam.
2. He will give me the rest of the money I need for the Jamaica trip.
3. Will make me hunger more for Him and His word.
4. Allow for me to glorify Him though what He does in my life over the next two weeks and into Jamaica.

The Storm with No Calm Preceding It

So today is my first day back from Spring Break, and boy has the storm hit hard. These next two weeks will be a living nightmare as I have papers, projects, exams, oral presentations, lab recordings, online workbooks and compositions due. It is like Armageddon has been planned for next Friday and everything must happen before Thursday evening. I will be lucky to come out of these next two weeks without mono, that is how intense it is going to be. Ahhh! Updates to follow.

Double Post!

Yeah! Double post! It snowed a little today! I stopped by Subway with Andrew and Jeremiah and on the way to work it started to snow. I was all confused, but soon realized that I live in the state called Georgia. This weather is typical. And I also wanted to say that I am going to terribly miss working at Matt Elementary. There are some students there that have grown on me, and I will miss very much. Let's just say I have many girlfriends. :D

2 weeks!

I have two weeks until I leave for Jamaica. I have not gotten all my money in yet, but I know that I will. I believe God can and will bring everything together. He's done it before and he can do it again.

Happy Aliveness Jesus

It's Easter! Thank goodness we had only two services of Shift. I know that next year we will have at least 3 services, I hope four. Of course we will need more volunteers, and they will come. I expect they will come. And that leads to the title of the new series "Great Expectations." It's all about how we should expect great things from an extraordinary God. We have a super sweet bumper too ("This is Your Life" by Switchfoot).

Mountain Lake Internship

Yo. So it has been a few days since I posted. I put my two weeks notice in yesterday at Matt Elementary. I've been feeling God tell me that my season was up there. Of course, I battled it out for a day or two, but I think I am beginning to understand that He knows what He is doing, and I really have no clue. I trust Him more and more, and even when things don't make sense (like leaving a totally awesome job at Matt), I know He has BIGGER things in store. So I just ACT on it (Kudos to the last series at Mountain Lake Church). So starting in about a week I will be spending a few hours Mon/Wed/Fri at Mountain Lake starting my internship and then as my college semester ends I plan on devoting a TON of time here as well as sticking around at Nike for the long run. Nike is a very beneficial job for me and it is #82 on Fortune's list of the best companies to work for. I wonder where Mountain Lake is on the list.... HA!

March Madness

I am so ready for Jamaica. I have been so consumed with everything that this is one of the few times I have for myself. I am busy, and I will stay busy for awhile. But I am okay about it. I have made time to read Ecclesiates and 1 Samuel, as well as begin to dive into Acts. I have not been able to go to main service in awhile, but soon I should have time to go. I have not been to Starbucks in 3 weeks, but soon I will be able to go. I just need to be patient. And I am. It is not fun nor easy, but that's the way things are. I do have little breaks, and they are called small groups, Jamaica meetings, and LOST. So there is some time for my brain to shut off, but I'd rather have more. I mean, wouldn't we all?
