Patrick's Big 2-0!

We celebrated Patrick's birthday tonight at Logan's Roadhouse. We had a great group of more than 30 people show up! Awesome, eh? We had a blast and gave him chocolate and a ton of Little Debbie snacks. We had so much fun that I think I need to show you some pictures!

A Week in Review

Hey guys! Just an update for this friday afternoon. It was a rough week of two exams, a few tests, and essays. Next week won't be that much easier either as I have a few more quizzes, an essay, and an Old Testament Survey exam. I studied my butt off this week and for some reason my Bio exam didn't show all my efforts. Then in Bio today he talked to us about how when we aren't doing good, we aren't honoring God. So I felt like crap. Then he proceeded to give us a pop quiz on stuff we haven't even started yet. So, I am guessing this the class he does each year to motivate kids. Half of the class was missing since we took an exam last class. So I am a little bummed about Bio right now. THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!

Last night I helped a dormmate with studying for the OT Exam next week. I didn'y miss SURVIVOR and ER though. ;)

Thanksgiving So Soon?!

Sunday I reluctantly got out of bed and headed down to ChristWay. After a great early service, I was invited to go to my residental director's (Todd and Michelle) parent's house for lunch, or as they call it, dinner. The food was amazing as I felt as though I was eating a thanksgiving dinner. After stuffing myself for the second day in a row, I did some errands around the house for them. It was the least I could do for such great food. I ended up taking a nap and staying till 5:30.
The whole family and I left to go to youth group to hear Michelle's twin sister Jen speak about her trip to Nepal over the summer. It was awesome and showed me how our churces are too complacent, especially alot of kids back at my home church. It surprised me to see how a nineteen year old kid with down-syndrome had more faith than alot of kids back in my youth group. So God really touched me through Jenn and Ryan. After youth groups I decided to go to the church's "Open Door" meeting where they discussed things going on with the church. ChristWay is in the same boat now as First Christian was when we lost our pastor and ministers. They are starting from scratch as they lost most of their members. The meeting was so amazing as I saw the whole body come together. I am so excited to be at ChristWay and I cannot wait to see what God will do there in the next four years.

LOST at Paradise

Today was VERY eventful as we went down to Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, GA. It was nice to be home for a day. ;) The only problem we had was getting there. With the help of Mapquest I did a circle while trying to find an exit ramp and landed back at Lee. It really wasn't my fault as I was given no warning of the exit I needed to get off at. So I quickly lost the trust of my pals and I was booted to the back. I kept my mouth shut as we headed down I-75, the totally opposite direction. I knew we were going way out of the way, but I just kept my mouth shut. So we ended up 2 hrs later in Tunnel Hill and I got them to stop at my aunt Cathy's house so we could just relax and let their nerves calm. We had been lost about three or four times by then. So I let them try to figure things out and we were soon back on the road. We took a long way around and ended up getting lost once or twice more. I knew exactly where we were going, but didn't want to cause any more stress. We were heading in the right direction, but just going the LONG way. So instead of taking about an hour and 45 min., it took us about four and a half hours. We still had fun in my truck though!
So finally we got to the nice beach house and found awaiting us a great assortment of food. I ate hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans and tons of chips and dip. After stuffing ourselves we went swimming, diving off the dock, and tubing. We had a blast and were worn out. After falling asleep two or three times on the dock, we headed up for dinner. Afterwards, we hung out and I tried to salsa. To my dismay, I just can't get these hips to move!
The trip back was easy, as I lead with no problems through Geoegia, North Carolina, and back into Tennessee. The ride back was relaxing as I rolled the window down as we drove by the Ocoee river.

Frightful Friday

So Friday was super-sweet with a nice dinner at the cafeteria. I found that I had no more meals for the week, so I had to use my flex bucks. I figured that I hadn't gone out in a week (surprise, surprise!). So, I decided to get out Friday and go to see the movie "Flightplan" starring Jodie Foster with a few pals of mine. To my surprise, the movie was not as bad as the critics said it would be. It was slow, but really good. After that we headed over to Steak 'n Shake. I am really trying to get the guys to expand their tastebuds to different restraunts because I am sick of shakes.

A Flippin' Sweet Night of Concerts

Yesterday (Sat.) was BORING, but the Bulldogs WON! We are 3-0 right now! GO DAWGS. Now to Sunday! Sunday was a blast! A group of us went down to ChristWay and then Waffle House afterwards for a great brunch. I took a nice nap and then I headed back down to ChristWay for youth group. As soon as our small groups was done I headed straight back up to Lee to catch yet another free concert ( actually 3 concerts in one). There were two opening bands: a guy and Kendall Payne. Kendall was amazing and reminds me of Leigh Nash, Plumb, and Jennifer Knapp. She had everyone's attention. Shaun Groves was the main artist and rocked the house. It was an amazing set of concerts. Afterwards I met Kendall and Shaun and got to hang out with them for awhile (You'll love the pictures).

Tonight was awesome! Charlie Hall was in concert here at Lee, and it was 100% free! For those of you who don't know Charlie Hall, he plays at Passion conferences and is a huge worship leader. He was amazing and it felt like I was back at home. :( Afterwards we went to Jazzman's and then Sarah, JJ, and I went to the park and played guitar and sang. A guy stopped and listened to us for awhile and then told us how awesome we were and that we need to continue listening and trusting in God. It was awesome!

A Homeless Choo-Choo

So, I wasn't planning on doing anything Wed. night. Alot of my pals were going to go down to Chattanooga for the Men's Soccer Game and I needed to study. Well, at the last minute I found out we would get back earlier than I thought we would, so I went. Well, the rest of the group fell apart for some odd reason and Becky, Patrick, and I went. So off we went and we had a blast. We played Covenant College Scots atop lookout Mtn. and passed into Georgia for a few hours. For those of you who know me well, I get easily excited. So I pointed out every rock and artifact along the way. We won our game 5-1 and headed for downtown to look for some grub. Chili's sparked our appetite as we ate and then headed back home for the night. Maybe some pictures will help you understand better.

Barf and a Box

Tuesday Night rocked! Not much to update except I recieved a package!!!!!!!! YES, I was so happy. I recieved some school supplies, gum, sanitizer, air freshner (Thank you JESUS!), and a postcard. Postcards are good. After much excitement and much flaunting of my first package we went to Jazzman's after hanging out and doing homework. We went NUTS! As for the picture you see of me blowing chunks, it's actually a crappy Frozen Mocha. I decided after being spinkled with holy mocha water that I would just empty the cup...and empty the cup I did. I Kodak moment soon followed.

Nuts and Shakes

So this weekend was a little eventful. It has gone by so fast!! Friday we played volleyball for an hour or so and then we went out to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. I ended up buying to appetizers and sharing them with a few people (Don't get the hot wings! They cheat you out!). So after a ton of peanut wars and okay food we left and went to hang out back at O'Bannon.

Saturday we went back cliff diving. I decided I was not feeling good enough to jump (the water drains the crap out of you), but went on instead. It was fun, and afterwards we ran to Moe's to grab dinner and run back to the football game. GO DAWGS! Even though they won, the game was pitiful and we should have whipped S.C. After that we went crusing to Steak n' Shake and went driving all over Cleveland singing to all the old school music. We didn't get back till about midnight and I called it a night. Tomorrow is Sunday, so I am looking forward to church and going to the youth group Sunday night. I was able to get exempt from chapel Sunday nights due to church.

Laid Back at Lee

Oh, and the conspiracy thing was Six Flag's new roller coaster called "GOLIATH". A giant that will grace Atlanta's skyline this coming spring. It's over 200 feet tall and will go outside the park and in the island infront of the entrace and Scorcher.

Has it been a week already?!

SO this week went by quickly! There was alot of things that happened and I was so busy. Let's see where I can begin. I spent one day studying in Schimmels Park across the street from O'Bannon Hall (my palace). It was so amazing! I spent three hours out there studing History. I became so addicted to the air, I seriously fell in love with the weather. If you can't find me in the dorm, cafeteria, at Jazzman's, or Paul Conn SU, you can find me at my table in the park.
My floor is so crazy! We've got an awesome group of guys and we call ourselves the ninjas. We have a bigger title than that, but I can't recall it right now.
I went Thursday night and saw Bebo Norman for the secod time. I saw him for the first time in 2002 at HiFi Buy's Ampitheater in Atlanta. The lineup was Paul Colman Trio (now just Paul Colman), Bebo Norman, and Third Day. That was the best concert I have ever been too. So I was highly anticipating this concert along with the free admission, food, and transportation. It rocked, even though I didn't get to meet him afterwards, I got his set list though. I know, sneaky me! But it was a good concert that I needed to go to after a few days of a ton of work.
Last Night (Friday) I went to the Freshman Dating Game with a few pals and watched some desperate people trying to find their soulmate. It was hilarious. Thank goodness I never signed up. After the dating game we went to find a movie, after an hour we ended up at Hamilton Mill and some of us saw Batman Begins and others saw Transporter 2. We got back after curfew (bad me), but our RA never checked to see if everyone was here. SWEET, eh?
Today I have just been sleeping, studing (Yes, on a Saturday), and watching the UGA game starting NOW! BYE!!!!!!!

Life on the Edge

So here is my first two day entry of many to come I am sure. So yesterday (Saturday) we slept in till about 12:15ish. We were all lazy and stuff when Caleb, our RA, told us to come and doo the Scavenger Hunt. It didn't really phase me until we started that this scavenger hunt spanned the who city of Cleveland, so I needed my truck. Well, it turned out that only my suitemates and I did the race from our floor but we still went. So off we were doing one thing after the other, getting clue after clue until 5pm when we had to meet up at CiCi's. We ended up with 3rd place out of probably 8 or so teams. We got some prizes and a free dinner. Yes, I said FREE! So I ate to my heart's content and then drove back to the dorm. Now, CiCi's is my weakness and I have an issue of knowing when to stop eating...so after 8 or so slices and a few deserts later I felt sick as a dog. So I left my pals to go work out. I walked most of it off, but still felt uneasy. I will try to avoid CiCi's the next time. The funny thing is that I eat pizza alot for lunch and some dinners. So Saturday came and went with the usual meet at Jazzman's at night and hang out with the gang and Sunday came.
I awoke Sunday morning to my wonderful alarm clock to get up and go to the 9:00 service at ChristWay Community Church in Ootewah, TN (hilarious, yes?). I was sitting by myself when I noticed that my Residential Director (Todd) and his wife (Michelle) sat down up front. So I went and sat with them the whole service. Of all churches the could go to, the go to one about 20 or so minutes from Cleveland. So they offered my rides to church on Sundays.
After getting back and eating an okay lunch, a group of us went cliff diving. And that was it...."wait, did he just say 'cliff diving'?" YES! We went about 30 minutes up close to Athens, TN around a paper mill on the Chattahoochee and to some cliffs right over the river. It was pretty high up. I jumped off the high cliff and the lower cliff and it was freakin' sweet. It took your stomach like crazy. After two jumps I was bushed and let everyone do the swing. So it was pretty extreme and fun.
After wearing ourselves out, we raced for dinner and then chapel service which was the best so far. I started to feel God's presence more as these past few weeks have been rough. The music was amazing as a girl sang "Sing to the King" and the "Majesty". So the weekend was pretty eventful and fun. Now to homework!!!!!

More Moes!!

Today I slept in till about 9:10 and got up for Bio at 12:00. We are going to have 20 quizzes in that class!!! And 4 or 5 exams. Sheesh! This is one semester, mind you. SO after that I went and bummed around our dorm for awhile until we went out to eat at Moe's since the closed the dining hall for Club Lee. Seems they had run out of food when we were going to head over. So after having the "homewrecker", we went to blockbuster and rented "Sin City". After having to create a new membership we went to meet some pals at the men's soccer game. We won, of course.
So after the game we went and hung out at Jazzman's Cafe for about 3 hours till about 12:20 in the morning. We walked the girls back to their dorms and played in the sprinklers for awhile. After we were all back we watched part of "Sin City" and went to sleep.

Park Hopping....and Skipping

So today was my second day of classes. I had history first which was cool and the teacher is quite interesting. She opened as well with a deovtion and prayer. It seems we will be doing much research. I don't know much about it yet. After that I had a break for awhile and went back and relaxed until Old Testament. I rode the trolley all the way across campus!!! Don't worry, I will rarely do it because I need to exercise. There will be no freshman 15 for me!!! So after an overwhelming class of OT, I went to College Writing. It seems just like a high school class and she seems very easy. We will be writing quite a few papers, but I am excited.

So tonight there was another block party Brent, Adina, Rachel, and I hung out at for awhile. I chatted with a girl named Yulia (just say Julia) who is Russian. She was pretty cool. Afterwards we went back to the coffeehouse and hung out for awhile and got a group and walked over to a park off campus for awhile. It seems this is the place everyone goes to do their drugs and make-out. It was a nice park though. We left some people behind and went to a park across from my dorm and hung out for awhile and Jason Rodriguez from the 4th floor brought his guitar. It was fun.

Now I am studying and typing up Biology notes.

Party, Party, and Party

Today was my first day of class and I ended up just having to go to one instead of two. I had Biology! The teacher was awesome and started off with a devotion and prayer. Isn't that sweet? I wish that happened in public school. Teachers there would show no hint of faith and her they flaunt it!

After class I met up with my bros (I'll introduce them later) and some awesome gals. After dinner we went to a frat block party for awhile and then us guys went to play some pool. Yeah, they saw how crappy I am at pool. After that we went back to the block party for a few songs and went with some of our friends to the Student Leadership Council meeting at "The House". I had no clue where we were until we were sitting down in the front row. I dunno, I may join if I have time. SO after that we headed over to a coffee house on campus and sat outside. I headed over to the HYPE concert/party thing for a few minutes then headed back to the patio outside the coffee house and we had a group of 10 or so just having a blast. We had so much fun and I wish I had the time to explain everything. So for my lack of wanting to explain everything, here are some more pictures!

Scream n' Shake

So where to begin?! Sunday was sweet and all with "Deke Day" where we (all freshman) were shipped out around TN to get some service hours in. It was awesome and I met a few great people and an awesome woman named Georgia.
Monday I woke up and went with a few pals to lift weights (which my legs are still killing me a few days afterwards). I really can't remember what went on that day. I know I saw "Napolean Dynamite" with some pals and stuff. It rocked. Also I had me virgin experience at Moe's Southwest Grill (which rocked).
Registration was a nightmare as I was sent everywhere. What I thought was going to be a simple thing ended up being an overwhelming room after room ordeal. But after a few hard crys and hugs I made it through registration. Hurray, right?! No! I then had to go find all my books. That took a good 30 mins as I ended up getting about 11 books and spent a total of $404.
We went Monday night to see "Red Eye" with some gals which was so funny. I sat next to Rachel who was scared the whole time. She was hilarious and even used a twizzler to cover her eyes. My dorm mate Chris Gates screamed so loud at one part which was so hilarious. I laughed so hard. After the movie was over we went to Steak 'n Shake and stayed out till about 2 in the morning.
Today (Tuesday), we went out to eat at the expensive Tres Hermanos with the same gals who are awesome. After that we headed over to the free Barlow Girl concert with an opening band called "From Brenda with Love". They stunk, but Barlow Girls rocked. Their message is so solid and they are so open.
I've done so much that everything seems a blur. Somewhere in there I attempted to open up my P.O. Box. I'll have some pictures up soon when they get out internet connections in our rooms back up again (sadness, I know).

Muy Caliente el Dia Dos

So, day two was hot (for those of you who are German or French and don't know the best foriegn language and food: Spanish). After waking up at the crack of dawn, we were tortured with three or so hours of sessions with no powerpoints due to technology failing to do it's duty. After that we were treated to a sack lunch in a room that I swear was 60 degrees. They released us soon afterwards and we tried to do some stuff in the sun. Yeah...laugh...it was a record high. And...laugh...I attempted 3-on-3 basketball. I wasn't too too too bad. Nah, it was fun. So I hung out and watched some Halo gaming and went to the Dedication ceremony. Boy those gals can sing. Voices of Lee rocks...and when a guy who was doing a solo went to step back up on the stand, he went up so smoothly I thought God was taking him home. Yes...I was falling asleep. After that I went to a Stand-Up buffet (FREE) and chatted with some cool gals. I walked around and chatted with Alabama and watched the Flames Soccer game (my first sports event!!). Now I am back in my dorm and we are hanging out in the "living room" and switch back and forth watching "Big Fish". Adios!

Beginning of the End

Well guys, I am all moved in up at Lee, and boy is it amazing! Let me just say that I have it made! As you'll see the pictures below, we have nice rooms and a sweet setup. I will hopefully have a video of my room up soon! All the guys are watching Super Troopers and Family Guy. Anyways, I am moved in all safe and sound and I am excited to see what is in store for me! Here we go!

Two Blogs Gone Digital

Alright, I have been battling over whether to have just one blog or two blog with one being devoted to just college life. Well, after many fights with my other self we decieded to have two. So I will have Big Fish and Lee Life. Big Fish will be just what is going on in my life as well as be my official blog when I am at home or on holidays. So my first entry in Lee Life will be Friday with pictures of packing and my room and possibly roomate Brent. Sweet, eh? Trent and Brent's Room. Sweet.

So I went to Six Flags for a few hours last friday and was blessed to be one of the last few hundred riders on the Great Gasp (See pics below). It was a fun day with my pals Adam, Luke, Andrew, CW, and issaC. We got to ride Superman, Batman, Monster Plantation, Mindbender, and Gasp. I had to leave for work at 2:15.

So I was treated tonight to a nice dinner at Chili's with my family. I was suprised to recieve a most awesome gift: a digital camer, case, and charger. I was so shocked when I got it. I thought it was an iPod case. I wasn't even expecting a gift, just a dinner, desert, and go home. So, it was cool of them to do that for me. So now it is winding up some projects I have been working on and packing like crazy.

I am sitting here at, oh, 2:31 in the morning after visiting with a friend who has been away all summer on a mission trip up north. But God has been doing much lately as I have let go of a friend, discovered an organization I was once a part of is sort-of falling apart, and I am being offered so many opportunities. Let's just say that I am so excited about the future and what God has in store for me. I live for Him, breath because of Him, and desire only to be the man he wants me to be. So let us just say I am ROCKIN! Woo-hoo! People question why I am always cheerful and never somber, well, it's because I can never stay down for what all God has to offer me.

Amazing, eh? To be held by God. The strength and comfort he gives to us is more than anything we can recieve here on earth. It was creepy though as I drove back from Dalonegha and hearing some guy request the song and actually singing it on 104.7 The Fish. He tried singing it and sounded really....yeah. A wannaBeBo (kudos to Luke for that one!)

Anyways, all the youngsters are back in school and I slept through my sibling leaving and the bus going by. Hurrah to no more yellow twinkies!

Man Under Construction

One of the things I've struggled with alot in the past few years is being the man God wants me to be. It's been tough, because the world tries to make you the man they want you to be. It's been cool to see God reveal to me how different I am from who I used to be and how I get no pleasure out of things I used to think made me happy.

16 Dang more days till Lee! I am seriously rocking myself in the corner of the room trying to make the days go by faster. Tonight was sad as I gave the reigns over to a little kid in middle school to run MediaShout! and all the media in youth groups. I've been slowly spacing myself from the youth group because I know it's my time to go. Tonight rocked as my buddy Andrew at North GA played with the praise band and we had an extended worship service and an excellent message from Luke Dawg. I'm guessing this is his last Wed. So I topped off my misery of leaving alot behind with a little shake and cheese fries from Steak 'N Shake.

College Now!

I am really wanting to be a college right now. I've been working my buttocks off trying to earn some cash. I've been creating a database of clients at my work, I spent a day putting 700 flyers on mailboxes in Suwanee, and I've been working as a party coordinator and party attendant every few days. So hopefully the dough will roll in before college starts in 17 days! Woo-Hoo!

One of the things I love some much about Casting Crowns is their honesty and their ability to just praise God with all their ability and reach all types of music genre listeners. - You get so much out of this verse. It's amazing and powerful. You get the image of a man (or woman) just hurting inside. They're carrying something that is causing alot of pain. I imagine them raising their hands to the sky and saying, "Lord I am such a total screw-up, but I am going to keep on praising you in this rut I am in". WOW! So plain and well said.

Fish and a Heartache

Discovered today that two girls at my old school were killed last night in a car crash. I wasn't friends with them, but I recognized who they were. Some of my pals knew them though. They brought a lot of media attention though and had senators and Sonny Perdue talking about the deaths and getting Drivers Ed in all high schools!

I was a guest DJ on the fish with Dan Ratcliff's top 5 at 5. I was#3 on the countdown introducing a Newsong song. The theme was superheros and your one super power. I said I would have been BeatBoy who could beatbox. Sweet, eh?

Pain and a River

So my feet were killing me at work today. Darn sandals and socks! Amyways, God has been tugging at me about this "River" thing and I am interested in studying the "River" God asks us to seek, dance, and dive in. So I am anxious to see what he ahs in store for me on this neat topic. In other news, Leviticus is crazy and shows how strict God is! WOW he is a father figure. 'Tis sad we would have to sacrifice 50 thousand lams, rams, etc. a week for our sins.!

Two Praises and a Mouse

It's been a fast-paced summer and I am not in the home stretch of my vacation. Lee is just a few weeks away and I am preparing for moving in. Since my last post I've been to BigStuf in Panama City (which rocked), AtlantaFest two days in a row, Disney World, and lead the Middle School retreat. I am going to be mixed with many emotions over the next few weeks as I leave much behind and mover forward!

Burn and a Babe

Well folks I got a sunburn for the first time in my life I believe. It'll go away quick because I usually never get burned and I heal fast. It was a spot I couldn't reach on my back (figures!). Only three more days till BigStuf in Panama City and I am EXTREMELY anxious!

Tonight will be our third night of VBS. It's called "Serengheti Trek" and it is well themed. There is one girl in my group named Lauren who has attached herself to me and will yak 27/7. She must tell me she's hurt, hunry, wants to answer the question, go dance on stage, where we are going next, that she's scared, she wants to read, yada, yada, yada. Oh well...Everyone tells me "I hear you have Lauren this year." And there you go!

Another thing that it addictive is this hobby called shopping...I've never shopped for clothes before, and yesterday I found the nerve (and money) to go. I found it was fun...and have one more mall to hit up before I am all shopped out for another three years.
